PEACEMAKER ASSESSMENT:
Peacemaker Ministries was founded in 1982 by a group of pastors, lawyers, and business people who wanted to encourage and assist Christians to respond to conflict biblically. The mission of Peacemaker Ministries is to equip and assist Christians and their churches to respond to conflict biblically. Peacemaker Ministries provides resources, training, and services to prepare church leaders, adults, and children for peacemaking as well as conflict coaching, mediation, and arbitration services to resolve church and ministry disputes, lawsuits, family divisions, and business conflicts. From May 20-22, Peacemaker Ministries was onsite at CCC to provide an assessment of the church. The findings of the team from Peacemaker Ministries were presented to the church on Saturday, May 22, 2010.

Please note that much of the written report is given in bullet point fashion as it was originally created as more of a ‘talking points’ piece rather than a report to be published. Those who desire to read the report in a ‘content driven’ fashion will find it most helpful to read it while listening to the audio recording of the assessment presented to the church on May 22, 2010.

- Sunday, July 18th – Sunday Services and Leadership Training (Cabinet)
WE NEED EVERYONE HERE FOR THE SATURDAY TRAINING. On Saturday, we will be learning more about conflict, idol progression, confession, and applying forgiveness. This training is for the entire congregation and the Diaconate asks that everyone be present and ready to learn. We are asking the Lord for wisdom and discernment as we travel this new road to healing. The Diaconate asks that you cling to the Lord and cling to the cross as we learn together ways to heal our hearts.
The Cabinet is being asked to please also attend the Sunday afternoon leadership training on July 18th. More information about this training will be forthcoming in the near future. Right now we have the dates and specifics about each day are in the planning.
There have been times in the last couple of years where the journey for this church has felt like a wilderness journey – parched throats, blinded by selfishness, anger about the situation, and the need for cooling and refreshing water. We are now seeking the oasis in the promised land as we work to honor the Lord and listen intently for His calling and leading. We ask for prayer as we rely on the Holy Spirit to bring us back together as one. The journey is tough, but the rewards are unbelievable for all of us.
Please put the appropriate above dates on your calendar and plan to attend those meetings which apply to you. Our hope is to see the entire congregation become involved in the Saturday workshop – leading only towards healing and a new found love for life and the Lord.
